First-ever electric Lexus ES detailed for Australia: Priced from $77,000 with 510km range. New hybrid also confirmed
The first battery-electric Lexus ES will arrive in Australia priced from just $77,000 before on-road costs, spearheading the launch of the all-new eighth-generation luxury sedan before a new ES 300h hybrid joins the range later in 2026.
Offered with a choice of front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive, the first electric ES is claimed to deliver up to 510km of WLTP range, while the flagship ES 500e becomes the most powerful version of the long-running luxury sedan yet produced.
Joinign the freshly overhauled RZ SUV in the Lexus EV line-up in Australia, the new ES 350e Sports Luxury will be priced from $77,000 before on-road costs, while the more powerful ES 500e Sports Luxury costs $84,000.

Both electric models will arrive ahead of the ES 300h Luxury hybrid, which is priced from $75,000 before on-road costs and will follow later in the year.

The new line-up represents a significant shake-up for the ES range, with two battery-electric models joining the existing hybrid powertrain and the previous F Sport and Sports Luxury hybrid grades discontinued.
It also means the entry price for an ES 300h rises by $9460 compared with the outgoing ES 300h Luxury, although the new-generation model is larger, more powerful and significantly more comprehensively equipped.
The new entry-level ES EV costs only $2000 more than the ES 300h Luxury hybrid and $3170 less than the outgoing ES 300h Sports Luxury.
The ES 350e and ES 500e are both powered by a new 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery mounted beneath the floor.
The front-wheel drive ES 350e produces 165kW and 269Nm and has a claimed WLTP range of 510km, with energy consumption rated at 16.4kWh/100km.
It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 8.0 seconds and has a top speed of 160km/h.
Stepping up to the ES 500e adds a second electric motor and Lexus’ DIRECT4 all-wheel-drive system, lifting combined output to 252kW and making it the most powerful production ES yet.
The extra performance cuts the 0-100km/h time to 5.5 seconds and increases top speed to 180km/h, although claimed WLTP range falls to 465km and consumption rises to 17.9kWh/100km.

Both EVs support 150kW DC fast charging, which Lexus claims can replenish the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in 28 minutes.
A standard 22kW three-phase AC onboard charger can complete a 10-100 per cent recharge in about 4.5 hours.
The ES 500e also introduces Interactive Manual Drive, which uses steering wheel-mounted paddles, simulated engine sounds, a virtual tachometer and eight artificial gears to mimic the operation of a combustion-powered vehicle.
When the paddles are not being used for the simulated transmission, they can select between five levels of regenerative braking.

Depending on powertrain, it stands up to 115mm taller than before.
