Mine’s bigger than yours! Mercedes C-Class EV interior revealed with enormous touchscreen that tops new BMW i3
Mercedes-Benz has released a new teaser of its inbound all-electric Mercedes C-Class with EQ Technology that confirms its medium sedan will share the massive 38.1-inch full-width touchscreen that recently debuted in the larger battery-powered GLC SUV.
It has been revealed just weeks after the full unveiling of the all-electric BMW 3 Series, badged the i3, which comes with only a 17.9-inch touchscreen. However, the i3 also gets a 43.3-inch panoramic display embedded in the base of the windshield.
Bragging rights will no doubt be debated!
Happily, the latest images shows the Benz retains a row of physical dials below the twin wireless phone chargers, along with illuminated air vents.
While the GLC EV has been fast-tracked to land in Australia in the second half of 2026, it’s thought the C-Class won’t touch down until 2027.

When it lands, the electric C-Class will benefit from the same powerful 800-volt electrics as the GLC, with which it shares its MB.EA platform.
Mercedes hasn’t confirmed what batteries will power the new C-Class, but it’s thought rear-wheel-drive versions with the most energy-dense battery packs should be able to glide past 800km before needing to be plugged in.
A safe bet is there will be plenty of sharing with the GLC EV, with the fastest versions expected to feature a 360kW dual-motor powertrain that uses an efficiency-boosting two-speed transmission. Combined with a large 94kWh nickel-manganese battery, expect the mid-size sedan to boast a range of around 750km.
Capable of receiving a 330kW peak charge, expect a 10–80 per cent top-up to take less than 22 minutes.

Those physical buttons, meanwhile, help operate the air conditioning and the 360-degree camera.
Majoring on quality, Mercedes says that, as well as the usual Nappa leather, there will be new high-grade vegan materials, plus a powerful Burmester surround sound system.
Early spy shots have already revealed that the C-Class is set to combine a traditional long bonnet with rakish, coupe-like rear styling that slashes drag and enhances its range.
Up front there will be a traditional upright grille that features illumination. At the rear, you’ll find a full-width LED light bar and a glowing three-pointed star emblem.
As well as sportier AMG Line trims, a supercar-baiting Mercedes-AMG version is expected later, which could be badged the C 53 AMG.
While the most expensive versions come with the huge 39.1-inch display, most all-electric C-Class models will sport a smaller 14.5-inch infotainment system combined with a separate 10.25-inch display.

Fresh driver-assist tech, shared with the GLC EV, includes the C-Class’s new Level 2+ autonomous driving aid, which provides hands-off driving on the highway.
Offering more space than the current combustion-powered C-Class, it’s rumoured that Mercedes has already ruled out an all-electric wagon version to compete with the i3 Touring.
Helping it deliver what’s claimed to be class-leading levels of comfort and agility, the new C-Class comes with air suspension and rear-wheel steering.
Laminated windows, a quiet-running air-conditioning system and new hushed e-motors all prove key in blurring the boundaries between the mid-size sedan and the much more expensive and larger S-Class limo.
Commenting on the new Benz EV, Mercedes CEO Ola Källenius said: “With the all-new electric C-Class, we’ve raised everything customers love about this model to the next level. The result is a new benchmark for quality, craftsmanship and comfort. It is the most spacious and most intelligent C-Class ever.”
