Australia has a new EV van price leader! Farizon V7E undercuts Kia PV5 and dives below $50K

Farizon has confirmed drive-away pricing for its V7E electric van ahead of its Australian launch in May, undercutting key rivals to become the cheapest EV van currently confirmed for the local market.

Priced from $49,990 drive-away for the 50kWh Standard Range variant and $53,990 drive-away for the larger 66kWh version, the V7E moves ahead of the recently announced Kia PV5 Cargo on entry price.

The Kia has pricing from $55,990 plus on-road costs, bringing it into line with traditional diesel workhorses such as the Toyota HiAce.

However, Farizon’s sharper drive-away figure now resets the benchmark, further lowering the barrier for fleet operators and small businesses considering a switch to electric.

Distributed locally by Jameel Motors Australia, the V7E is aimed squarely at couriers, trades and fleet buyers, with a focus on matching the usability of traditional internal combustion engine vans while delivering potential long-term savings through lower running and servicing costs.

Key to that positioning is a payload capacity of more than 1300kg and cargo volume of 6.95 cubic metres, figures designed to align closely with established diesel competitors in the light commercial segment.

The V7E also forms part of a broader push by the Geely-owned Farizon brand into the Australian market, following earlier confirmation the electric van would be introduced locally as part of an expanding commercial vehicle line-up.

Adam Lawson, Country General Manager, Jameel Motors Australia, said the V7E reflects a growing shift in the commercial vehicle market as electric options become increasingly viable for day-to-day business operations.

“The V7E has been developed to meet the real expectations of commercial vehicle operators – capability, value and dependable day-to-day usability,” Mr Lawson said. “With pricing that sits competitively alongside traditional ICE vans, combined with the potential for lower running and servicing costs over time, the V7E offers a strong total cost of ownership proposition for many businesses.”
