Pricing revealed: 2025 Alfa Romeo Junior is Italian stallion’s first EV in Australia, cheaper hybrid also coming
The emerging premium compact SUV segment is hotting up following the arrival of the new 2025 Alfa Romeo Junior priced from $45,900 plus on-roads in Australia.
Available in both mild-hybrid and electric versions, the new Alfa Romeo Junior is the Italian firm’s cheapest car since the Giulietta hatch was axed from its line-up more than five years ago.
While the hybrid – or Ibrida – gets the headline pricing, the battery-powered Junior Elettrica starts from $57,900 plus on-roads.
The Junior, which is also Alfa’s first fully electric vehicle, had a name change from Milano before launch because it isn’t built in Italy.

The Alfa Junior Ibrida is $3500 cheaper than the most affordable Audi Q2 35 TFSI but $1910 more expensive than the entry MINI Aceman E Classic.

Coming equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment screen that works with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, the Junior also bags LED matrix headlamps, electric six-way adjust driver’s seat, a leather steering wheel and faux leather seat coverings.
All Aussie-spec Juniors will also ride on striking 18-inch Petali alloy wheels that feature a machined face and a Scudetto Leggenda grille that includes Alfa Romeo lettering.
More standard kit includes climate control, a massage driver’s seat and an electric tailgate.
As well as the firm’s latest autonomous emergency braking, that detects pedestrians and cyclists, there’s adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, blind-spot detection, lane centring, traffic sign recognition and a rear-view camera.
The cheapest Junior Ibrida comes equipped with a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol that is combined with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, Alfa says the 100kW/230Nm combustion engine is boosted by a 21kW e-motor, although combined peak power is 107kW.

Available with a six-speed automatic transmission, the front-wheel drive Junior Ibrida can average 4.1L/100km and accelerate from 0-100km/h in 8.9 seconds.
Based on the same platform as the Jeep Avenger and built in the same Polish Stellantis factory, the Elettrica is driven by a single e-motor that produces 115kW/260Nm.
The EV takes 9.0 seconds to launch from 0-100km/h, on account of its extra weight. (1545kg v 1280kg).
Powered by a 54kWh battery, Alfa Romeo says its new entry EV can cover up to 407km on the WLTP test cycle. The battery is charged either with an 11kW AC charge or up to 100kW using a DC charger, with a 20-80 per cent top up said to take 27 minutes.
Options include a panoramic sunroof and premium paint finishes like Red Brera, Blue Navigli, Arese Steel, Galleria Light Grey and Black Tortona, all combined with a black roof, costing an extra $1990.
Like other Alfa Romeo’s, the new Junior is covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. The Junior Elettrica covered by an extra eight-year/160,000km protection for the high-voltage battery.
