Folgore to the fore: Electric Maserati GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Grecale add range, revise styling and get an interior makeover
The all-electric Maserati GranTurismo coupe, GranCabrio roadster and Grecale mid-size SUV have all gone under the knife, gaining a fresh look..
Now looking more aligned with the Maserati MCPura supercar, the Folgore trio’s tweaked bumpers are claimed to better manage airflow and even improve downforce on the GranTurismo and GranCabrio when combined with a central splitter.
Fresh colours include Matte Green Jupiter and Blu Denim, which can be combined with new gloss-black Tridente wheels that mimic the MCPura Cielo’s rims.

Inside, there is fresh Bordeaux leather, Nude Alcantara, or Black and Tan leather, which can be paired with Mahogany trim.
There’s also a new flat-top and flat-bottom steering wheel with dark satin aluminium spokes that is available with either perforated leather, with or without Alcantara inserts.
Another change is an updated Maserati Digital Clock with redesigned graphics.
Ahead of the driver is a 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.2-inch touchscreen, both of which receive fresh graphics. The 8.8-inch climate control panel and head-up display carry over.

Like before, the GT versions retain their powerful 800-volt electrical architecture and mighty 567kW triple-motor EV powertrain, which uses dual motors to drive the rear axle, allowing for enhanced levels of torque vectoring.
Helping to maximise the range provided by the 92.5kWh battery is a new energy management algorithm that raises the GranTurismo’s range to more than 540km – an improvement of more than 85km compared to before.
The top speed remains 325km/h, while a new Country mode for rougher, undulating roads raises the height-adjustable air suspension by around 20mm. A new Max Range mode also ramps up efficiency when you’re running low on juice.
When in a rush, a new Performance Optimiser in Corsa mode is claimed to deliver up to 10 per cent more power at all times thanks to enhanced torque vectoring.

The 290km/h GranCabrio convertible, meanwhile, remains the world’s fastest all-electric convertible and receives the same software updates, but the Italian car-maker has not disclosed how much its 450km range has been boosted.
Improving handling, the coupe and roadster have a 10mm wider track that improves stability and cornering speed.
The Grecale Folgore has had its range boosted to 580km thanks to a new Air Grille Shutter (AGS) system that closes at speed to cut drag. Other aero tweaks include a new front bumper, underbody revisions and a new set of more efficient tyres.
Maserati claims a 9km boost in range on the 20-inch wheels, and up to 53km on the 21-inch wheels.
The 400-volt electrical architecture and 410kW dual-motor powertrain carry over unchanged, including an efficiency-boosting AWD Disconnect mode.

The updates to the GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Grecale – which also include more power for the combustion versions’ 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 – follow a poor 2025 sales performance that saw volumes drop to just 7900 units globally, a shocking 30 per cent year-on-year fall and the lowest number of deliveries since 2012.
Back in 2022, Maserati declared that it would switch to an all-EV brand by 2030, but it is thought those plans have since been shelved.
Recently, it was revealed that Maserati was working with Chinese ute maker JAC to help develop its future EVs, as well as electronics giant Huawei to help develop its driver-assistance technology.
As part of the potential deal, the luxury Italian brand will also gain access to the Chinese firm’s extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) powertrain technology.
The new Folgore and ICE Maserati models are due in Australia in the first quarter of 2027. Pricing has yet to be announced.
