2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 price and specifications: New tech, fewer grades for refreshed EV

Hyundai has overhauled its Ioniq 5 range for 2026, trimming the lineup, updating equipment and introducing the brand’s Digital Key 2.0 across every variant.

The new lineup cuts the previous 14-variant spread down to just three, with the entry 63kWh RWD and the Digital Side Mirror option both dropped. The performance flagship, the Ioniq 5 N, also shifts to a single grade that now includes a Vision Roof as standard.

The update carries over earlier MY25 updates, including Intelligent Front Lighting System LEDs, haptic steering feedback and auto up/down windows front and back. Hyundai has also updated N Drift Optimiser Pro and updated its N Active Sound.

Naming now aligns with the wider Hyundai range: Dynamiq becomes Elite, and Epiq becomes N Line Premium.

“We’re delighted to introduce our refined 2026 Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 5 N range, which brings the convenience of Digital Key 2.0 and an appealingly simple model line-up to our multi-award-winning electric medium SUV,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Operating Officer, Gavin Donaldson.

Every 2026 Ioniq 5 now uses an 84kWh battery, with the RWD model developing 168kW, while AWD variants step up to dual-motor layouts. The Ioniq 5 N remains the hero, delivering 448kW and 448km of WLTP range.

Digital Key 2.0 is the biggest news for 2026, allowing owners to lock, unlock and start the car with a compatible smartphone or watch. The key can be shared with up to 15 devices and continues to work without phone signal or, in many cases, even with a flat battery.

Colour and trim options have also been refreshed. Celadon Grey Matte joins the Ioniq 5 palette, while the N offers nine colours including the hero Performance Blue. A black interior is now standard across all models, with Elite offering two light-coloured trim options.

Pricing for the 2026 line-up starts at $76,200 (MLP) for the Ioniq 5 RWD, rising to $81,200 for the Elite and $91,700 for the N Line Premium. The Ioniq 5 N tops the range at $115,000. Servicing plans continue with 24- and 48-month options.
