Renault Megane E-Tech price slash: Highly-rated electric hatch is now around $10,000 more affordable.
Renault Australia has jumped on the spike in EV sales driven by rising fuel prices, cutting the price of its highly rated Megane E-Tech electric hatchback.
A new drive-away offer for the low-riding relation of the Scenic E-Tech we tested recently, reduces the entry point to $49,990 from $54,990 plus on-road costs. Roughly, that’s a saving of $10,000.
It’s the second major price cut for Megane E-Tech since its 2024 launch, when the launcg $64,990 price was soon chopped to $54,990.
But that’s nothing compared to the official Renault Australia website which had the Megane E-Tech on-sale for $9589.90 drive-away early on Wednesday morning (April 1). An error, we suspect.

The limited-time deal applies to new Renault Megane E-Tech vehicles sold and delivered between April 1 and June 30, 2026, while stock lasts.
It means the Megane E-Tech is now in the pricing vicinity of passenger cars such as the MG4 and cheapest BYD Seal when on-road costs are accounted for.
Renault says the pricing reflects savings equivalent to the GST, along with free on-road costs.
The move comes as rising petrol prices continue to influence consumer behaviour, with recent data showing increased interest in electric vehicles as running costs come under sharper focus.
Renault Australia general manager Glen Sealey said the offer was designed to encourage more buyers to consider switching to electric vehicles.
“We are doing our bit to help motorists make the switch to electric cars during the current fuel crisis,” he said.

“This limited-time drive-away offer in the lead-up to tax time – which amounts to savings equivalent to the GST plus free on-road costs – will help people get into a European electric car at an attainable price point.”
The Megane E-Tech is powered by a 60kWh battery and offers a claimed driving range of up to 454km (WLTP). Renault also claims a 0-100km/h time of 7.4 seconds.
Inside, the electric hatch features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a large infotainment display, while retaining physical controls for key functions. The model rides on 20-inch alloy wheels and offers four drive modes, along with four levels of regenerative braking.

The $49,990 drive-away pricing applies to vehicles finished in solid white with a black roof. Metallic paint adds $400, while selected two-tone finishes are priced at $800.
The Megane E-Tech is covered by a five-year/100,000km vehicle warranty and five years of roadside assistance.
The battery is backed by an eight-year/160,000km warranty, with a guaranteed minimum capacity of 70 per cent. Service intervals are set at 12 months or 30,000km, whichever comes first.
