Are EVs more expensive than regular cars?

EVs are currently expensive, and this is the main reason for their sluggish sales.

EVs typically cost at least 20 percent more than a regular petrol or diesel car. Sometimes they’ll be double the price (100 percent more expensive).

Sure, you’ll save money on running costs, but the initial price of entry puts many people off.

The main reason EVs are so expensive is the cost of the batteries.

But prices have been coming down, and increased competition and the maturing of the technology (particularly batteries) has experts predicting they will steadily become more affordable.
