2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech Aussie price and specification: French rival for BYD Atto 3 and MG S5 SUV travels up to 625km on a single charge

The 2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech has been detailed and priced for Australia.

The French car-maker claims no small SUV will be capable of travelling further on a single charge, when it arrives in showrooms from next month.

Priced from $55,990 plus on-road costs, the new Renault Scenic E-Tech slips in to the range above the Megane E-Tech and commands a price premium of around $1000 over its hatchback.

Built to rival the likes of the BYD Atto 3 and MG S5 SUV, the new Scenic E-Tech will be offered in three trims: Techno EV60, Techno Long Range EV87 and a sporty Esprit Alpine EV87.

Initially, early adopters of the Scenic E-Tech will only be able to get their hands on the most expensive Esprit Alpine EV87 ($65,990 plus ORCs), with the cheaper models promised to arrive shortly after.

The most affordable Techno EV60 shares its powertrain with the current Megane E-Tech.

It comes powered by a 60kWh nickel-manganese-cobalt battery (NMC) combined with a front-mounted 125kW/280Nm e-motor, rather than the Megane’s punchier 160kW/300Nm unit.

The cheapest Scenic E-Tech is claimed to be capable of driving up to 430km on the WLTP test cycle.

Off the line, the most affordable electric Renault SUV takes 8.6 seconds to launch from 0-100km/h.

Choose the Scenic E-Tech EV87 variants and you get the more powerful 160kW e-motor blended with a bigger 87kWh NMC power pack that results in that commendable 625km driving range.

With more power and torque, the 0-100km/h dash drops to 7.9 seconds.

The base model rides on 19-inch alloy wheels, gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch infotainment screen, plus a wireless charger.

Featuring Google built-in, the Scenic E-Tech is the first Renault Australia model to come with telematics support, while it comes with Google Maps, Assistant and downloadable apps from the Play Store.

Capable of being upgraded using over-the-air updates, Renault Scenic E-Tech owners have access to the MyRenault smartphone app.

At the top of the range, the Esprit Alpine comes with larger 20-inch alloy wheels, a nine-speaker sound system, electric massage driver’s seat and driver facial recognition.

Options are limited and include metallic paint ($800) and a two-tone metallic finish ($1000), plus a special matte paint finish ($1200) that’s only available on the Esprit Alpine.

Available to order now, the 2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech is set to arrive in showrooms late this year, suggesting first deliveries will take place in either this December or early January.
