Czech it out: 2025 Skoda Enyaq set for major facelift just months after Aussie debut as it smartens up its act against the inbound upgraded Tesla Model Y

Just four years after its global launch and only months since its debut Down Under the 2025 Skoda Enyaq is going under the knife.

And it’s fair to say the facelift is extensive.

Previewed via some design renderings ahead of its unwrapping ceremony early next year, the big news is both the all-electric SUV wagon and coupe are primed to get styling heavily inspired by the 2022 Vision 7S concept.

That means, like the recently introduced baby Elroq small SUV, the new Enyaq gets the car brand’s new ‘Tech Deck face’ that first debuted on the 7S.

That means it will feature a slim plastic panel that mimics a combustion car’s front grille, while the Tesla Model Y rival will also get thin LED running lights and new ‘SKODA’ lettering in place of the Czech car-maker’s usual emblem.

As well as smartening up its look, Skoda says the new snout is also more aerodynamic than before and helps provides the battery-electric SUV with a better range – although the Czech brand hasn’t released any figures to back that up.

The second sketch suggests the Enyaq will come with jazzier paint that will include two-tone finishes.

Other notable revisions include a new tailgate, repositioned numberplate carrier and a different lower bumper design.

There’s no word on what’s happened beneath the skin but as well as the range improving the Skoda’s charging speed might also increase, plus the introduction of wider variety of new powertrains, at least in some markets.

In Australia the car-maker’s first EV is priced from $69,990 plus on-road costs, stretching to $83,990 for the fast 250kW dual-motor RS model.

All Aussie Enyaqs get an 82kWh battery that provides for a range of up to 561km on the WLTP test-cycle.

Thirty one Enyaqs were reported sold in Australia in November, its first month on-sale.

Stay tuned as more Enyaq teases are expected in the coming weeks.

Went to have a look at the Enyaq this week. Its a pity they have only decided to bring in the coupe, the wagon version would be so much more practical. You also have to question the price, which is probably $10k to high to be competative.
