2025 Audi Q4 e-tron prices slashed – but still more expensive than Tesla Model Y

Audi Australia has tweaked the pricing of the 2025 Audi Q4 e-tron, which will now cost $84,990 (plus on-roads) when deliveries begin in December, $3310 less than before.

Announcing the Audi Q4 e-tron would receive price reductions of between $1510 and $3310, the German brand has applied the biggest cuts to the entry Q4 e-tron wagon that was originally supposed to be priced from $88,300 (plus ORCSs).

Even at its new lower pricing that sees the Q4 Sportback 45 e-tron cost $86,500 (-$1800), the Q4 55 e-tron Quattro wagon ($105,990 (-$2510) and the Q4 Sportback e-tron 55 Quattro $107,990 (-$1510).

At that price, it’s clear Audi has positioned its Q4 e-tron well above the Tesla Model Y (priced from $63,900), but compare it next to fellow premium Euro rivals like the BMW iX3 M Sport ($89,100) or quicker dual-motor Volvo XC40 Recharge ($85,990) and the Q4 sits more favourably.

Incentivising buyers to snap up the first batch of cars, Audi says early customers who order and take delivery of a Q4 e-tron by December 31 2024 will also benefit from a free one-year Chargefox subscription, which includes its latest ultra-rapid chargers.

Audi Australia has already confirmed all the cars we get will be the recently upgraded MY205 Audi Q4 e-tron that can be charged at up to 175kW in the dual-motor versions, which means a 10 to 80 per cent fill takes around 28 minutes, with the range of the most efficient versions stated as up to 562km (WLTP verified).

Designed to fill the gap between the current combustion Q3 and larger Q5, the latest Audi SUV is quite a lot smaller than Australia’s best-selling EV, Tesla’s Model Y.

The Q4 e-tron measures 4590mm long, 1865mm wide and 1613mm tall – that makes it a significant 150mm shorter than its Tesla rival.

In our market, buyers will get the choice of both the wagon and a sleeker Sportback variant that actually gets a larger 535L (+15L) boot. Two powertrains are available: a rear-drive single-motor 45 or all-wheel drive dual-motor 55 Quattro.

When it comes to power outputs, the Q4 45 e-tron gets a 210kW/545Nm e-motor driving the rear wheels, delivering a 0-100km/h time of 6.7 seconds. The dual-motor Q4 55 e-tron pumps out 250kW and 679Nm of torque, helping it hit 100km/h from rest in 5.4 seconds.

All versions get a 77kWh battery that provides the rear-drive Q4 e-tron with a respectable 562km range, although this entry model can only be DC fast-charged at up to 135kW, compared to the 175kW DC rate of the dual-motor Q4.

Whichever you choose, equipment levels are high. The Q4 45 e-tron gets LED headlamps, a digital instrument cluster, power tailgate, leather heated seats, tri-zone climate control and metallic paint.

The Q4 55 e-tron adds an upgraded instrument panel, brighter matrix LED lamps, S-Line styling pack, sport front seats, progressive steering and ambient interior lighting.

Lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise, a 360-degree camera and park assist are all standard on the Q4 55 e-tron, while optional on the lesser 45.
