When it arrives, we expect a lower sports suspension, larger alloy wheels, and extra aerodynamic aids that could include a new front splitter, side skirts and a nifty tailgate spoiler.

Beneath the skin, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz GTX will come with a development of the ID.4 and ID.5 GTX dual-motor powertrains that will provide all-wheel drive and produce at least 250kW and 460Nm of torque.

Combined with an 81-91kWh battery, the faster ID. Buzz GTX should be capable of covering up to 450km between charges while being able to sprint from 0-100km/h in less than six seconds.

When it arrives Down Under to join the standard ID. Buzz it’s been tipped that Volkswagen Australia will position it as an indirect replacement for the VW Passat R-Line 206 TSI wagon that has not been replaced.

It’s thought some buyers might even migrate from the discontinued VW Golf R wagon.

Both pricing and timings are unknown but it’s been rumoured that the ID. Buzz GTX could join the range in early 2025, following on from the late 2024 local arrival of the ID.Buzz (pictured top).
