Coming to Australia: Skoda Enyaq RS is Czech brand’s most powerful EV to date

Skoda has expanded its electric vehicle line-up in Australia with the introduction of the Enyaq SUV RS and Enyaq Coupé RS, the brand’s most powerful production EVs to date.

Priced from $75,490 for the SUV and $76,490 for the Coupé (both before on-road costs), the dual-motor all-wheel-drive models sit at the top of the Enyaq range and combine increased performance with longer driving range and faster charging capability.

Both variants are powered by a 79kWh (net) battery paired with a dual-motor set-up producing 250kW and 545Nm, enabling a claimed 0–100km/h sprint of 5.4 seconds.

Driving range is rated at up to 534km (WLTP) for the Coupé and 523km for the SUV, with city figures of 646km and 637km respectively.

DC fast charging of up to 185kW allows a 10 to 80 per cent recharge in around 26 minutes, while 11kW AC charging is said to complete a full charge in about eight hours.

The RS models join the Enyaq SUV Select 60 and Sportline 85 and the Enyaq Coupe Sportline 85. on-sale in Australia.

Pricing for those models currently stretches from $54,990 drive-away to $68,990 drive-away.

The RS models follow on from the smaller Elroq, which was the latest EV to join the local Skoda line-up.

The RS models adopt a sportier design package with unique bumpers, gloss-black exterior highlights and 21-inch alloy wheels, along with Škoda’s illuminated ‘Tech-Deck Face’ front-end treatment.

Matrix LED headlights, LED tail-lights with dynamic indicators and a panoramic glass roof are also standard, with the SUV gaining a sliding function and the Coupé a fixed panel.

Inside, both models feature a 13-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 5.3-inch digital instrument display, wireless charging, multiple USB-C ports and a Canton premium sound system.

Heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, ambient lighting and three-zone climate control are also included.

Practical features include a hands-free power tailgate, remote rear seat release, configurable cargo storage solutions and additional convenience items such as rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirrors and an umbrella stored in the driver’s door.

A suite of driver assistance technologies is standard, including adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane guidance, traffic jam assist, autonomous emergency braking covering pedestrians and cyclists, as well as blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and a full complement of airbags.

Skoda Australia brand director Lucie Kuhn said the RS variants were designed to combine performance with everyday usability.

“The Enyaq RS and Enyaq Coupé RS distil the best of Skoda: effortless electric performance, long-range confidence and generous technology, all wrapped in a distinctly RS design,” she said.

Australian arrival timing and final drive-away pricing are expected to be confirmed closer to launch.
