Fast feline future: Jaguar’s all-electric comeback shown off testing for the first time ahead of 2026 launch
Jaguar has posted the very first picture of the fast all-electric GT that will leads its brave charge into the future.
This is the car Jaguar hopes will spearhead its global renaissance from slow-selling premium brand to an ultra-luxury all-electric marque that will rival the best EVs from the likes of Bentley, Porsche and even Rolls-Royce.
Shown as a camouflaged late-stage prototype in the imagery, the final product will be launched in 2026. The four-door GT will be the very first car to ride on the JLR (Jaguar Land Rover) dedicated JEA platform, that will go on to underpin both the large XJ limousine replacement and a flagship full-size SUV.

The Indian-owned British premium brand hasn’t released full technical details but says the fast four-door will produce more than 430kW of power, be capable of covering more than 700km on a single charge and cost more than £100,000 ($195,000).
Even with liberal use of camouflage it’s impossible to miss how the new GT mimics the body shape of a traditional combustion-powered GT, with its long bonnet and cab-rearward proportions.
It’s a far cry from the cab-forward I-PACE that pioneered Jaguar’s EV conversion.
Other takeaways from the pics of the low-slung four-door coupe include a squared-off design language and a long wheelbase.
Combined with its large size that could mean plenty of space for occupants in the rear seats to lounge in.
Like the Rolls-Royce Spectre, the latest Jag GT gets a large front grille that’s used as a style statement – remembering electric cars need significantly less cooling than an ICE.
It’s thought the grille could provide a visual link with Jaguar’s near nine-decade history of car-building.
Unusually, early reports suggest the rakish Jaguar will, like the latest Polestar 3, follow the new trend of not having a rear screen, with the driver having to rely on a digital rear-view mirror.
Within, expect curved widescreen OLED infotainment screens to be blended with a contemporary take on the wood and leather that Jaguars were once famous for.
In the rear, we expect two airline-style recliners that will no doubt be heated, ventilated and feature a massage functions.
Jaguar says its new EV chapter will begin following the GT’s full reveal on December 2 at Miami Art Week in the US.
Jaguar announced recently it would stop selling ICE cars in the UK to help it fully prepare for its EV relaunch.
In the long 24 months production break, Jaguar has vowed to overhaul both its aftersales and servicing operations ahead of the new EV’s debut.
