2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech EV in Australia before the end of 2025: French electric Kia EV3, MG S5 and BYD Atto 3 rival to land with 625km range
After a 15-year hiatus, the Renault Scenic will return to Australia late this year as an all-electric SUV designed to go head-to-head with small-medium SUVs such as the BYD Atto 3.
Last sold Down Under back in 2010 as a small people mover, the new Renault Scenic E-Tech is no longer available with combustion engines. Instead, Australians will be offered a choice of Standard Range and Long Range battery electric vehicles.
The entry Renault Scenic E-Tech Standard Range comes with a 60kWh battery that will provide a range of 430km on the WLTP test cycle. The front-wheel drive single electric motor produces 125kW and 280Nm of torque – which is enough for a 0-100km dash of 8.6 seconds.

If you need to travel further on a charge, the Scenic E-Tech Long Range comes with a bigger 87kWh battery that claims a 625km range on a single charge.
The Scenic EV range-topper gets a punchier single motor that pumps out 160kW and 300Nm of torque, dropping the 0-100km/h sprint to 7.9 seconds.
While the standard battery can be charged at up to 130kW, the larger power pack accepts a 150kW charge, equating to a 15 to 80 per cent top-up taking 37 minutes.
Measuring 4470mm long, 1864mm wide and standing 1565mm tall, the Scenic E-Tech has a 2785mm wheelbase making it 202mm shorter than the Koleos but a considerable 270mm longer and 65mm taller than a Megane E-Tech, with a 100mm longer wheelbase.

That explains why the five-seat Renault Scenic E-Tech has a boot with 542 litres of luggage capacity, significantly more than the smaller Megane E-Tech’s 440L.
“Earlier this year we announced Renault Australia would introduce six new or updated models over the next 18 months,” said Glen Sealey, the General Manager of Renault Australia.
“The Renault Scenic E-Tech is just the start of our revitalisation program, and we are delighted to be able to introduce this award-winning car in Australia.
“In a sea of ‘same-same’ SUVs, the Renault Scenic E-Tech stands out for its French flair, cutting edge design, and easy-to-use technology.”
Renault Australia has confirmed that full pricing and details of the 2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech will be released closer to its launch later this year.
