Roll out the network: XPeng confirms its first four Aussie showrooms as G6 mid-sized SUV electric launches. Another 20 outlets promised before the end of 2025
As first examples of the Xpeng G6 start rolling out to Aussie buyers, it’s been confirmed the ambitious Chinese brand will have four showrooms in operation across NSW and Victoria before the end of 2024 – and another 20 locations opened by the end of 2025.
XPeng’s Australian distributor TrueEV had previously announced a flagship site in Sydney airport’s domestic precinct. It will be joined in December by “experience centres” in Wollongong NSW and in the Melbourne inner city suburbs of Port Melbourne and North Coburg.
XPeng’s arrival – initially with the G6 that lines up against the Tesla Model Y – signals the start of a massive rollout by Chinese EV brands in Australia keen to emulate BYD’s success. They include Deepal, Geely and Leapmotor.

TrueEV did not specify where the additional 20 sites would be, other than to say they would be “strategically positioned to provide maximum accessibility and convenience for customers”.
But according to a map on the XPeng Australia website more showrooms will be added in NSW and Victoria, while Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory will gain coverage.
Customers currently have the option of collecting their new car from one of the handful of “experience centres” now opening or having the car home delivered.
According to the XPeng map another confirmed site will be added in Crown Sydney at Barangaroo and a flagship experience centre at Kingsway in Melbourne. Both open in 2025.
The Port Melbourne site opening this month is listed as a “fulfilment centre”.
Pending NSW locations include the inner west, Chatswood on the north shore, the hills district in the north west, and Parramatta and Liverpool in the west.
Pending Victorian sites are Burwood and Berwick in the outer east.
Queensland pending sites include Brisbane city, Springwood and Sunshine Coast, while there are four sites coming in WA; Perth, Midland, Mornington and Melville.
SA’s pending location is listed as Adelaide CBD, Tasmania’s is in the state capital Hobart and the ACT is simply listed as Canberra.
TrueEV says the new centres opening this month will allow customers to test drive vehicles and serve as delivery locations, as well as providing an “after-sales experience” including vehicle servicing.
However, TrueEV also has a deal with the Ultra Tune network to service its vehicles.
“Following on from our Xpeng Sydney flagship showroom announcement, we are delighted to announce the opening of three experience centre locations before the end of 2024,” said Jason Clarke, CEO of TrueEV.
“These showrooms have been designed to offer an immersive and engaging environment where our customers can experience the latest in Xpeng technology and electric vehicles, as well as a wealth of information via our dedicated team on site.
“We aim to bring together innovation and style, creating a future where technology and luxury seamlessly blend.”
The G6 launches priced under the Model Y at $54,800 plus on-road costs.
It is expected to be followed onto the Aussie market in 2026 by the G9 large SUV. The P9 large people-mover is also on the XPeng Aussie website, but no plans to add it to the local roster have been announced.
