Renamed! Baby 2026 Leapmotor A10 becomes the B03X for export markets. What about Australia?
We’ve covered the reveal of the 2026 Leapmotor A10 budget buy electric compact SUV at the Guangzhou Auto Show, but now more detail has been uncovered including a name change.
The A10 has been immediately renamed the B03X for export markets as the Chinese EV start-up gears up to the launch of what could become one of its best-selling models globally.
Measuring in at 4200mm long, 1800mm wide and standing 1600mm tall, the B03X is 110mm shorter, 30mm narrower and 75mm lower than the BYD Atto 2, suggesting the Leapmotor won’t lead the class for space.

In China the Leapmotor B03X is expected to arrive on sale in showrooms in the first half of 2026, with pricing to be announced later.

There’s no confirmation the B03X has been locked in for Australia yet, but it certainly looks likely. It will likely land with pricing below the $31,990 before on-road cost charged for the Atto 2.
That means the baby Leapmotor reclaiming the crown for Australia’s cheapest electric SUV briefly geld by the B10.
Created to rival small EVs like the Atto 2, the Kia EV3 and Smart #1, the new Leapmotor B03X mirrors the larger B10 styling, with its bluff chunky styling.

However, the smaller model comes with different headlamps that are supposed to mimic the smiley emoji.
At the rear, square-shaped taillights, again, come with a smiley face signature, while prominent Leapmotor lettering stretches across the tailgate.
Other takeaways are a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor binnacle that is expected to be dropped for export, new aerodynamically optimised door handles and a black C-pillar to provide for a floating roof effect.

Riding on 18-inch alloy wheels, the new B03X will come in six different colours – brown, blue, green, grey, silver and beige.
No pictures yet have been released of the cabin but it’s thought a 14.6-inch touchscreen will be combined with a smaller 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster – both are shared with the larger B10.
Based on the same Leap 3.5 architecture as the B10 and C10, the B03X is said to cover up to 500km on the Chinese CLTC test cycle, which should drop to around 400km under Euro WLTP testing.

A 30 to 80 per cent top-up, meanwhile, is claimed to take 16 minutes.
No power or torque figures have been released but a safe bet is it will be powered by the same next-generation e-motor as the B10, with power detuned from the larger SUV’s 160kW and 240Nm of torque.
