Macan beta? 2025 Alpine A390 Beta concept set for October debut when it will attempt to pinch Porsche Macan sales

French sports car maker Alpine has teased what will become its breakthrough model, revealing the 2025 Alpine A390 Beta concept that will be fully unwrapped on October 11.

Revealing a new shadowy tease of the Alpine A390 Beta’s sporty silhouette, the mid-size SUV has been created to rival premium and sporty SUVs like both the Porsche Macan and the latest Audi SQ6.

Timed for a public debut at next month’s Paris motor show , the A390 is one of seven electric cars Alpine has announced it will build as it shifts from niche A110 producer to a full-scale premium brand contender.

If you’re wondering what the A390 name stands for the ‘3’ is said to reference its size and the ’90’ referring to how usable it is every day.

Based on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi CMF-EV platform, it’s thought the mid-size Alpine SUV might share both a 60kWh and 87kWh battery pack with the current Renault Scenic E-Tech but when it comes to motors Alpine will go it alone with a range of more powerful e-motors that will all overshadow the humble 160kW Renault SUV.

At the Paris motor show Alpine says the A390 will be displayed beside both special edition A110, its new A290 hot hatch and a new concept called the Alpenglow Hy6 sports car that will preview the firm’s all-new hydrogen-powered six-cylinder combustion powertrain.

Officially the Alpine A390 has yet to be locked in for sale here next year but recent trademarks suggest the French car-maker is gearing up for a local launch, with an announcement expected in the coming months.
