Kia Australia has confirmed pricing for the 2026 Kia EV9 range, headlined by the arrival of the barnstorming new EV9 GT at $129,250 plus on-road costs — the highest price ever asked for a Kia in Australia.
The MY26 line-up expands to four grades — Air, Earth, GT-Line and the new flagship GT — with vehicles arriving in dealerships imminently .
Kia has confirmed pricing for the carry-over EV9 variants remains unchanged for 2026.

Sitting at the top of the range, the EV9 GT features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain producing 374kW and 740Nm, enabling a claimed 0–100km/h time of 4.5 seconds.
Despite the significant performance lift, Kia claims a driving range of up to 510km (WLTP).
The GT also introduces Electronic Controlled Suspension and has undergone a localised ride and handling program to better suit Australian road conditions with the usual significant input from chassis dynamics guru Graeme Gambold.
“Graeme’s very happy with that product,” said Kia Australia product choef Roland Rivero. “He’s pretty proud of it and drives extremely well.
“It’s a great, great big cruiser.”
Unique EV9 GT design elements include gloss black 21-inch alloy wheels, a digital LED grille with Kia’s Star Map lighting signature and a bespoke interior that brings second-row relaxation seats as standard.

Below the GT, the EV9 range continues with the 99.8kWh Earth AWD at $106,500 RRP, offering a claimed 521km of WLTP range, while the GT-Line AWD is priced at $121,000 with a 505km range.
Opening the range is the 76.1kWh EV9 Air RWD at $97,000 RRP, powered by a single rear-mounted motor and offering a claimed 443km driving range.
How much boost an even more expensive flagship will bring to the EV9 range will be interesting to see.
In 2025 sales dipped more than 50 per cent to just 269, as Kia missed its 11,000 overall EV sales target by around 3000 sales.
But to be fair to the EV9, high priced Large SUV EV are not selling in significant numbers.
Its in-house rival the Hyundai Ioniq 9 has sold 40 examples since its August launch as a single $120,000 model.
The Mercedes-benz EQB does better, with 861 sold in 2025 across five- and seven-seat model layouts.
