French Fancy: New 2024 Peugeot E-3008 locked for 2024 Aussie launch as a Tesla Model Y rival
Peugeot Australia has invited interested buyers to register their interest in the incoming 2024 Peugeot E-3008 ahead of the stylish French SUV’s debut in the second half of this year.
Created to go head-to-head with the best-selling Tesla Model Y, both pricing and local details have yet to be released but the headline news is the new mid-size SUV will be capable of covering up to a class-leading 700km on a single charge.
That figure is attainable with the 170kW e-motor and biggest 98kWh battery. The e-motor with the entry 157kW model can still travel up to 535km before its 73kWh battery needs a recharge.

At the top of the tree is a dual-motor version that pushes out 240kW and still covers up to the same 535km.
Peugeot Australia has yet to confirm which variants of the all-new E-3008 line-up it will sell, but when it arrives it will also target other mid-size electric SUVs like the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the Toyota bZ4X.
When it comes to pricing it’s thought that the Stellantis-owned car-maker will position the E-3008 against the mid- to upper end of the segment it competes in, with the preference of importing well-equipped high-power versions of the range.
The E-3008 SUV will join a growing range of 100 per cent electric Peugeot vehicles available for Australian consumers including the E-Partner Van and E-2008 SUV, both already on sale, the E-308 Hatch and E-Expert Van, both also slated for launch in the second half of the year, and the E-208, set to arrive in 2024.
