Centurion! Updated 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV set for 100km range and tweaked styling
The facelifted 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is just days away from a full reveal and to prove it the Japanese car-maker has released three new shadowy teasers to whet your appetite for the best-selling plug-in hybrid.
The pics of the refreshed Mitsubishi Outlander reveal the electrified mid-size SUV will get new LED running lamps that appears to feature five-square light-up elements.
Not visible in the new teaser is a sharper grille design that blends clever active shutters to lower aerodynamic drag and enhance efficiency at cruising speeds.

The second official picture shows how the Outlander will be available with premium leather seats, while the third announces the arrival of a powerful 12-speaker Yamaha sound system.
Within, it’s almost certain the plug-in hybrid mid-size SUV will get plenty of new in-car tech.
That will include the Nissan X-TRAIL’s larger 12.3-inch infotainment system running the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance’s latest-gen software.
Beneath the skin, the most crucial change will be combining the Outlander’s 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a larger battery than the current 20kWh power pack.
The bigger powerpack has been introduced to boost the EV range to enable the Outlander PHEV to cover more than 100km of all-electric power. The current range claim is 84km (WLTP).
There’s no word yet when the 2025 Mitsubishi Outlander will make its debut, although it’s thought its first public outing with be at the Japan Mobility Show this October.
Mitsubishi Australia has already revealed it expects total sales of PHEV versions of both the Outlander and the smaller Eclipse Cross to be double 2023 sales, in response to booming demand for its electrified SUVs.
Last year, according to the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI), Mitsubishi Australia shifted 2274 Outlander PHEVs and 1296 Eclipse Cross PHEV.
As PHEVs, both cars benefit from being eligible for the federal government’s electric car discount until April 1 2025.
