Cabin fever: All-electric 2026 Porsche Cayenne interior revealed, showing off next-gen in-car tech

Porsche has begun revealing its all-new 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric from the inside out, releasing pictures of its inbound battery-powered luxury SUV’s cabin.

An all-new cabin architecture is centred around two touchscreens. The larger more upright display will be used for the navigation, and activating the new driving ‘mood’ modes, while the narrower, smaller screen allows the driver to operate the climate control, adjust the stereo, crank up the seat heaters, operate the sat-nav or make calls.

A row of physical buttons for the climate control and sound system sit below the central stack of screens, while the steering wheel also still features proper buttons.

While the centre curved screen measures in at 14.25-inch, the new Cayenne EV introduces a massive 14.9-inch passenger display – the car-maker’s biggest yet.

The new screen for co-pilots has been designed for gaming or movies and features a separate Bluetooth connection.

This screen willbe optional on entry-levels Cayennes, replaced by a blank panel covered by either leather or fabric to match the seats.

While this is our first look at the new Cayenne Electric’s interior, the exterior has been shown off various times in light disguise.

Built on the same 800-volt PPE architecture as the Macan Electric, the all-new Cayenne Electric is primed to come with up to 750kW of power and a range of beyond 600km, thanks to its large 108kWh battery pack.

Plug it in and the new Cayenne takes around 15 minutes for a 10 to 80 per cent top-up at high charging speeds of more than 400kW.

The Cayenne Elecric will also come with a pioneering 11kW inductive wireless charging system that is claimed to be up to 90 per cent efficient.

However, it needs extra hardware to work with the large SUV, as well as the pad, with both likely to cost more than $10,000.

The latest update on the Cayenne EV follows Porsche’s very public change of direction on its EV strategy.

It means the combustion versions of the Panamera and Cayenne, plus the 718 Boxster and Cayman live on far longer than originally planned in the wake of slowing global EV sales.

The ICE Cayenne, which was supposed to be replaced by the new Cayenne Electric, will now remain on sale “well into the 2030s” say Porsche bosses.
