2026 Geely EX5 updates revealed: Bigger battery delivers the longer range Chinese electric SUV needs to battle the Tesla Model Y
Chinese car-making giant Geely Auto has announced that little more than a year after the Geely EX5 electric SUV was launched it is set for a significant boost.
Geely is set to roll out an EX5 with a new, larger 68.39kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery that could see the all-electric medium SUV cover close to 600km on a full charge.
Set to be offered in China with the current car’s 160kW/320Nm e-motor, the new Geely EX5 is said to be capable of covering up to 610km on a charge. Note though, that figure was recorded on the generous Chinese CLTC test cycle.

Geely has yet to reveal when and where it will begin rolling out its new long-range battery for export markets like Australia, but in China, the EX5 will arrive with a bigger battery before the end of this month.
