2025 Genesis Electrified GV70 gets tweaked looks, better in-car tech and improved range but costs more in bid to steal sales from new Audi Q6 e-tron

The Genesis Electrified GV70 has been overhauled for 2025 with a bunch of comprehensive tweaks that improve its styling, in-car tech offering and range but the refreshed Audi Q6 e-tron or Mercedes-Benz EQE rival is now $6942 more expensive.

Luckily, against its opposition even with the latest price bump the Genesis Electrified GV70 Signature Performance remains $18,600 cheaper than the Audi SQ6 e-tron ($151,400 plus on-road costs) and costs a considerable $22,100 less than the EQE 350 ($154,900 plus on-roads) but until now, pricing has not been enough for it to find homes in Australia. It’s also more affordable than the rival BMW iX.

That explains why the battery-powered mid-size Genesis SUV has smartened up and gets a new bumper, grille, matrix LED headlights plus new 20-inch alloy wheels already introduced on the revised combustion-powered GV70.

At the rear, you might also notice the fresh rear spoiler and subtle relocation of the indicators from the bumper to the taillight clusters.

The Genesis Electrified GV70 now gets an 84kWh battery, boosting range to 462km.

Inside, the changes are dramatic, the Electrified GV70 gets an enormous 27-inch OLED screen that now stretches across the dash and incorporates the instrument cluster and infotainment. The latter now runs wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and is capable of over-the-air updates.

Thanks to a bigger 84-kilowatt-hour power pack (up from 77.4kWh), the revised Electrified GV70 can now go further on a charge, with the WLTP range boosted slightly from 445km to 462km.

As part of the refresh, just a single dual-motor powertrain is available that delivers 360kW and 700Nm in ‘boost’ mode, or 320kW in normal driving, with 0-100km/h taking just 4.4 seconds.

Carrying over its 800-volt electrical system, charging remains a highlight, with a 10 to 80 per cent top-up taking a rapid 19 minutes if you can find a 350kW DC charger.

Fresh tech within includes UV sterilisation for the wireless phone charger, a memory function for the passenger seat and keyless entry that now works for the rear doors.

Matte paint is the only option for the well-equipped Genesis Electrified GV70.

Updates to the driver-assist tech, meanwhile, see an updated autonomous emergency braking system introduced that now offers junction crossing support, satnav integration for the adaptive cruise control, and side parking sensors.

Finally, Genesis has added a new remote auto parking function, plus a Highway Driving Assist 2 can carry out assisted lane changes, after you’ve tapped the indicator stalk signalling you want to change lanes.

Available to order now, the 2025 Genesis Electrified GV70 has just one option – matte paint – that costs an extra $2000.
