XPeng unveils its latest EV! 2026 XPeng P7 is an AI-powered Porsche Taycan fighter
XPeng has already impressed with the Tesla Model Y-rivalling G6 but now it wants to stun with its all-new XPeng P7 sports sedan.
Set to go on sale in China in the second half of 2025, XPeng claims its rival for the likes of the Porsche Taycan and the Tesla Model S is ‘more than a car’.
It says the second-generation P7 is its answer for the ‘AI [artificial intelligence] era’, a hint of some of the advanced tech that has shaped it.

The XPeng P7 is the first car to be shaped by the brand’s all-new striking design language that sees the sedan take the shape of a sleek fastback.

Striking design details include full-width light bars, flush-fit door handles and frameless mirrors.
The smooth lines also include a large pop-out spoiler designed to keep the P7 stable at high speeds.
The dramatic approach to the exterior is said to have been reflected within, although XPeng has yet revealed the cabin.

But spy shots suggest the usual huge central landscape-mounted touchscreen is combined with a three-spoke steering wheel that keeps its physical controls.
The infotainment is said to incorporate the latest iteration of XPeng’s Xmart OS 2.0 operating system that supports natural speak voice controls and work with an advanced new augmented reality head-up display.
This is also the first XPeng to come with the brand’s all-new Turing AI chip, that is claimed to unlock its most sophisticated driver assist tech.

However, instead of LiDAR, the P7 relies solely on cameras for sensing and detecting hazards – which might limit its capability.
Expect the P7 to launch with a level 3 adaptive cruise that will allow owners to read or watch movies on the move from launch.
But expect legislation to limit the use to a less-advanced level 2+ system on Aussie roads.
Beneath the skin the XPeng P7 is thought to be among the first beneficiaries of the firm’s all-new ‘Kunpeng’ EV architecture that supports the Chinese EV start-up’s first range-extender hybrids.
The P7 EV should come with a dual-motor powertrain that will produce more than 350kW and offer a long range of 700km.
More details, as well as what it looks inside will be released in November 2025 at the Guangzhou auto show.

Sales of the XPeng P7 are also set to kick-off around then.
In Australia the XPeng’s expansion continues with the arrival of both an updated G6, and the debut of both the G9 large SUV and X9 people mover. The G7 SUV is also exected to head our way.
If green lit, the P7 could be land in Australian dealerships in 2026. The Mona M03 and P7+ are also on the consideraion list.
