WTF! Mind-blowing Jaguar Type 00 concept reveals luxury all-electric Rolls-Royce Spectre rival as dramatic brand reboot accelerates
Jaguar has doubled down on its bold rebranding strategy with the launch of the futuristic Jaguar Type 00 coupe.
The wild concept previews an all-new four-door EV it will launch in 2026.
Introducing an entirely new design language for the 90-year-old British car-maker, the Jaguar Type 00 was shown off in Miami Pink and cool London Blue at a reveal event in Miami.

It dumps the car-maker’s trademark curves for a straight-edge brutalist approach.
The two-door GT shares its blocky proportions with cars like the Rolls-Royce Spectre, which will be a rival.
Said to feature a shape “very close” to production, the new Jag GT will be the very first model to ride on the car-maker’s all-new JEA dedicated EV architecture.
JEA can embed the car-maker’s latest tech and bestows on the GT a low floor. That enhances handling while allowing designers to create a low-slung coupe.
Designed to package a large battery of around 100kWh, Jaguar claims the production car will be capable of covering up to 770km on a single charge while an ultra-fast DC charge will add as much as 320km of range in just 15 minutes.
There’s no word on power, but the production version will have at least 430kW. Expect the new Jag GT to come with at least two-motors and all-wheel drive.
One thing the concept does share with Jaguar icons of the past is a long bonnet, stretched wheelbase and rakish rear roof.
However, at the rear the Type 00 follows the trend of ditching a rear screen, relying on a digital rear-view mirror.
Upfront the Jaguar has a proper 16-bar grille that looks entirely closed. The slatted theme is repeated in the huge 23-inch alloy wheel design and at the rear end of the car.
Within, the Jaguar gets a cream-coloured interior that dumps leather for more sustainable Kvadrat fabric that’s already an option at sibling Range Rover.
Intriguingly, the two futuristic-looking bucket seats avoids visible stitching.
On the centre console, designers have used something called Travertine Stone. It is a genuine stone veneer that is blended with a brass spine that runs through the length of the cabin.
If you’re wondering where the infotainment or digital instrument clusters are, they’re tucked away in the dash and glide out when needed.
The first all-new Jaguar since the 2018 I-PACE, the Type 00 will be followed by a luxury limo to replace the old XJ and a new full-size SUV to rival cars like the Aston Martin DBX and Ferrari Purosangue.
Later, a sports car will join the range that’s likely to be offered as both a coupe and convertible.
The Type 00 is tipped to be priced from around £120,000 ($235,000) when it launches in 2026.
Jaguar hopes its new range of dramatically styled vehicles will net it younger, wealthier buyers who have previously overlooked the Tata-owned brand.
“It’s a complete reset,” says Jaguar Land Rover boss Adrian Mardell. “But we’ve done it before with Defender and we will do it at Jaguar.”
