Subaru Uncharted electric SUV confirmed for Australia: Kia EV3 rival will be here mid-year!
Subaru has confirmed it will further expand its electric vehicle line-up in Australia with the all-new Uncharted small SUV, due to arrive locally in mid-2026 as part of a broader push into battery-powered models.
The Uncharted joins the brand’s evolving EV range alongside the updated Solterra and larger Trailseeker, which arrives in Q2 2026.
Positioned as a compact performance-focused electric SUV, the Uncharted is underpinned by a dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrain producing a claimed 252kW, with Subaru targeting a 0–100km/h sprint of around five seconds.

While pricing and detailed specification are yet to be announced, the Uncharted will offer Subaru buyers a lower entry point into an EV than the cheapest $63,990 Solterra AWD currently provides.
While a close relation of the Toyota C-HR+ EV that’s also coming to Australia, Subaru says the Uncharted has been engineered to retain the brand’s traditional identity.
This includes all-wheel drive capability, combining the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system with traction-focused technologies including X-Mode and Downhill Assist Control.
Energy is supplied by a 74.7kWh battery sourced from CATL, delivering a preliminary WLTP driving range of up to 522km.
DC fast-charging capability of up to 150kW is expected to allow a 10–80 per cent recharge in around 30 minutes, while 22kW AC charging and vehicle-to-load functionality are also included.
Subaru says the Uncharted will offer 211mm of ground clearance, aligning it with the brand’s SUV-focused positioning despite its more coupe-like fastback styling.
Exterior highlights include a wide stance, 20-inch alloy wheels and a sloping roofline designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency.
Inside, the Uncharted adopts a 14-inch touchscreen supported by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and dual wireless charging pads.
Physical controls have been retained for key functions, while the safety suite includes Subaru’s latest driver assistance systems such as blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera system and driver monitoring technology.
The Uncharted will give Subaru a new entrant in the increasingly competitive small electric SUV segment, where a burgeoning number of rivals include the BYD Atto 3, MG S5, Chery Omoda E5 and Kia EV3.
Pricing and final Australian specifications will be announced closer to the Uncharted’s local launch.
