Skoda Enyaq Coupe revealed, vRS performance version locked in
A sleeker coupe version of the Skoda Enyaq iV electric SUV has been unveiled, adding a fresh body style to the family and a high performance vRS electric variant for the first time.
Following in the wheel tracks of the Volkswagen ID.5 – a coupe-inspired version of the Volkswagen ID.4 – the Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV compromises rear space for sleeker looks, with a roof line that falls away more sharply than it does on the traditional SUV version.
The revised profile of the crossover coupe from the Volkswagen-owned Czech brand accommodates up to 570 litres of luggage, 15 litres less than the regular SUV version.

It also gets a different front bumper and rear spoiler from the SUV to improve aerodynamics.
The Coupe is slightly slipperier through the air, with a co-efficient of drag (Cd) of 0.234 compared with between 0.258 and 0.280 for the Enyaq iV SUV.
The regular Enyaq Coupe iV 80 gets a battery with 77kWh of usable capacity.
The entry-level rear-drive single motor model makes 150kW and 310Nm with a WLTP range of up to 545km.
A dual-motor all-wheel drive version is badged as the 80x and ups the combined outputs to 195kW and 425Nm. Clearly the EV range will be less due to the additional weight and performance, although Skoda hasn’t detailed that yet for other models.
There’s also a motorsport-inspired vRS model with higher performance, effectively the Skoda equivalent of Volkswagen’s GTX electric performance models. It’s the first time Skoda has applied its RS branding to an EV (RS denoting Rally Sport).
The RS uses dual motors to make a combined 220kW and 460Nm for a 0-100km/h time of 6.5 seconds.
A 10-80 percent DC charge can be done at up to 135kW and is claimed to take 29 minutes.
AC charging can be done at up to 11kW and takes eight hours to reach 100 percent.
The Enyaq Coupe can be optioned with the same funky toothy grille with 131 LEDs that illuminate it.
Being based on the same Volkswagen MEB modular architecture as other vehicles from Volkswagen, Audi, Cupra and Skoda means it gets the inherent packaging benefits that create plenty of interior space.
Plus Skoda has added storage nets in the boot – part of its “simply clever” brand positioning – to keep items contained when you utilise all that vRS performance.
The bad news for Aussies is the Enyaq Coupe iV is not high on the hit list for the Volkswagen Group locally.
The Group is focused on delivering the Cupra Born by late 2022 – there are already Cupra EVs testing in Australia – and confirming the Volkswagen ID.4.
The Skoda Enyaq iV SUV is the priority over the Coupe because it would play in a bigger portion of the market.
“Skoda Australia are engaged with the factory in active conversations about start of production for the Enyaq,” a spokesperson told us, adding that the regular SUV version would be “the perfect fit”.
“We’ll have some clarity around that soon.”
I’d be interested in Skoda if the do an EV version of the Octavia RS wagon that I have. I need something practical so I have room for my dog in the back and I can put some roof racks on it to put my surf skis on it or pick up some timber
