Shattered: GWM Tank 300 Hi4-T resets pricing for 4×4 PHEVs under $60,000
GWM has announced drive-away launch pricing for its all-new Tank 300 Hi4-T plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), dropping the entry point for PHEV off-roaders by more than $20,000 compared to its nearest rival.
The PHEV version of the mid-size off-roader will be offered from $55,990 for the Lux grade and $59,990 for the more comprehensively equipped Ultra.
The Ultra is due to reach showrooms first in March with the Lux following around April. The pricing package is described as a limited-time launch offer.

The Hi4-T joins the petrol, diesel and hybrid in the 300 line-up. It is now the cheapest 4×4 PHEV on the market, easily undercutting the just-launched $74,990 (plus on-road costs) Denza B5.
At the heart of the Tank 300 Hi4-T is GWM’s Hybrid Intelligent 4WD Technology (Hi4-T), which pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a dedicated electric motor and nine-speed hybrid automatic transmission.

The system is already employed in GWM’s Tank 500 PHEV and Cannon Alpha.
GWM claims the Hi4-T powertrain delivers robust low-speed torque for technical terrain while enabling meaningful electric-only travel for everyday use.
It retains mechanical four-wheel-drive hardware, including a low-range transfer case and front and rear locking differentials.
Towing capacity is rated up to 3000kg braked, and the model will feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability for powering external devices.
Full equipment lists for both Lux and Ultra grades, including final specifications of comfort, safety and technology features, are to be confirmed closer to the 2026 on-sale date.
