Same same, but cheaper: New 2025 Zeekr X is up to $6400 cheaper than Volvo EX30 in Australia as Chinese small electric SUV guns for greater volumes
The 2025 Zeekr X has been priced below its Volvo EX30 sibling ahead of its arrival in Australian showrooms later this month, as the new Geely-owned brand positions itself to steal sales from the best-selling Tesla Model Y.
Spearheading Zeekr’s arrival in our market, the Zeekr X has been priced from $56,900 for the entry rear-drive (RWD) model – $3000 cheaper than the base Volvo EX30 with which it shares its architecture, powertrains and plenty of tech, while being around $1000 more expensive than the cheapest Model Y.
The flagship dual-motor Zeerk X AWD, meanwhile, is priced from $64,900 – a considerably $6390 cheaper than its Swedish-Chinese sibling.

When it comes to range, both models arrive with a 66kWh battery, with the Zeekr X RWD said to cover up to 540km on a charge, while the all-wheel drive Zeekr X AWD can travel around 470km, with both figures recorded on the ADR test cycle. Both can be topped up at a rate of up to 150kW with a 10-80 per cent charge taking around 30 minutes.
A full zero-100 per cent charge using a 7kW wall-box takes 11hr 30mins for the RWD, and around 7.5hrs for the AWD that can handle an 11kW AC top-up.
Like the Volvo, even the base X is quick, thanks to its 200kW/343Nm rear-mounted e-motor that is capable of launching off the line from 0-100km/h in just 5.6 seconds.
The dual-motor version, meanwhile, gets 315kW and 543Nm of torque, which is enough for a 3.8-second 0-100km/h dash.
Equipment levels for the Zeekr X are high. The RWD gets 19-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic glass roof, six-way electric seats, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch infotainment screen and a seven-speaker sound system and dual-zone climate control.
A Convenience pack adds a six-way power seat for the passenger, memory function for the driver, heated and ventilated sears, a heated steering wheel and a 13-speaker Yamaha surround sound system, plus ambient lighting.
The X AWD adds bigger 20-inch alloy wheels, a huge 24.3-inch head-up display and includes the Convenience pack.
Driver assist aids are also plentiful, with adaptive cruise control, AEB, blind spot detection, a dashcam, driver performance support, evasive manoeuvre assist, front cross traffic assist, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert and more.
From launch there will be the choice of Mist Grey, Crystal White, Palace Beige, Grid Grey and Pine Green. Inside, buyers can combine the exterior hue with either Charcoal/Stone Grey, Midnight Blue/Polar White or Mulberry/Rose cabin themes.
Zeekr says its new X will be protected by a five-year/unlimited-kilometre factory warranty, plus an eight-year/160,000km battery warranty, plus five-year roadside assist and a five-year connected service subscription.
Sweetening the deal in Zeekr’s favour further, if buyers register their interest in the new X SUV before October 31 2024 the Chinese brand will throw in 12 months of unlimited charging, as well as a free 7kW domestic wall-box.
