Roq star! White hot Skoda Elroq RS previewed as Czech brand sizes up the Mini Aceman JCW and new breed of affordable fast EVs

Skoda is putting the finishing touches to its second high-performance EV and to whet our appetite it has given us a glimpse of the fast 2026 Skoda Elroq RS it will unwrap later this week at the Milan Design Week.

Built to rival the likes of the Mini Aceman JCW and the Abarth 600e, the Skoda Elroq RS is yet to be officially locked in for an Australian launch, but our love for fast EVs should ensure it lands here in the first half of 2026.

Painted in a retina-searing shade of Mamba Green paint and contrasting black trim usually reserved for Skoda RS models, the first look at the hot Elroq reveals a gloss black Tech Deck front grille, unique set of larger alloy wheels and a sporty downforce-boosting body kit.

No technical details have yet been released but it’s likely the fastest Elroq yet will pinch its powertrain from the Cupra Born VZ electric hot hatch, that’s sits on the same MEB platform as the Skoda.

If so, the Elroq RS will boast the Volkswagen Group’s latest AP550 e-motor that that will spin-up the rear wheels.

Expect at least 240kW and 545Nm of torque, which should see the Elroq RS be capable of a 0-100km/h sprint of around 5.6 seconds and a 200km/h top speed.

Skoda Australia has announced that its all-electric small-medium Karoq-replacing SUV should be on sale in the second half of 2025, with pricing to be released closer to its debut with the Elroq RS expected to be confirmed for our market around then.

Stay tuned as full details of the 2026 Skoda Elroq RS will be revealed on April 3 following its unveiling in Milan.
