Luxury three-row 2025 Cadillac Vistiq electric SUV arrives to pinch sales from the Volvo EX90, Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Range Rover Sport EV

The large luxury family-friendly SUV segment is set to superheat with the arrival of the new 2025 Cadillac Vistiq early next year.

Bigger than the Optiq compact SUV that was also revealed by Cadillac in 2024, it adds a handy third row of seats missing from the stylish Lyriq crossover that’s already on sale in Australia.

Hotly tipped to be locked in for a launch Down Under, along with the Optiq, the seven-seat Vistiq sits below the giant Escalade IQ EV in the US car-maker’s EV line-up.

The Vistiq has been created to rival other three-row battery-electric luxury SUVs, like the inbound Volvo EX90, Range Rover Sport EV and the new Hyundai Ioniq 9.

In the US, Cadillac hopes the Vistiq’s decent range and punchy performance will tempt luxury buyers out of combustion-powered SUVs, such as the BMW X5 and Audi Q7.

The Vistiq comes with both dual-motors and a large 102kWh (usable) battery pack, the latter providing for a range of more than 510km (although it’s not been confirmed if that was recorded on the strict WLTP test cycle).

Off the line, the Vistiq will leave most conventional large SUVs for dead, thanks to its 459kW power output and 881Nm of torque.

Cadillac says that its latest EV can launch from 0-60mph (0-97km/h) in just 3.7 seconds.

The latest Caddy borrows design elements from the closely-related Lyriq and flagship Escalade IQ.

It gets the same illuminated Black Crystal Shield grille and striking vertical headlamps treatment.

As standard, it rides on 21-inch alloy wheels, but the brand says larger 22s and 23-inch hoops are also available.

New tech includes Active Rear Steer and Road Noise Cancellation tech.

Inside, the Vistiq nabs the Lyriq’s huge 33-inch 9K-resolution digital display and includes similar headline features such as an AKG 19-speaker audio, Nappa leather trim, five-zone climate control, heated front and rear seats, ventilated and massaging front seats, a panoramic fixed-glass roof, intersection automatic emergency braking and trick adaptive headlights.
