Leapmotor C10 gets smarter! OTA update adds dashcam, smoother ADAS and global radio, but still no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto

Leapmotor’s C10 SUV has received a major software boost in Australia, with an Over-the-Air (OTA) update rolling out across both the BEV and REEV models.

The rollout actually began in September, with the update bringing a suite of new connected features, smarter driver-assistance tech and a tweaked user interface, all designed – the brand says – to make the C10 more enjoyable to live with.

The most headline-grabbing addition is a new integrated 360-degree dashcam recorder. Using the vehicle’s surround-view cameras, it continuously records while driving and saves footage directly to a USB stick. It’s a trick already at work on the smaller B10, and is similar to the system that will also appear in the new Toyota RAV4 Hybrid.

Connectivity also steps up with QDLink – a kind of Android Auto, with Android users able to mirror their phones directly to the C10’s central touchscreen – and Radioline, a global radio streaming app that provides access to thousands of stations from around the world.

The Android Auto workaround still won’t help Apple users, though, with CarPlay still ruled out for this generation C10.

Leapmotor’s driver-assistance systems have also been refined, with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centering Control improved for smoother vehicle responses. Lane Keeping Assist is now more responsive, while fault icons for driver alerts have been relocated for easier visibility.

Even the audio warnings have been softened for a calmer cabin experience. Another sure-to-be-welcomed feature is an ADAS memory setting, allowing drivers to save presets for certain active safety systems.

The C10’s navigation system gains an “avoid tolls” option, its voice recognition can now identify commands like searching for songs or artists, and the dock bar adds quick controls for passenger climate zones and mirror heating.

Leapmotor’s smartphone app now supports digital key sharing, letting owners grant temporary or permanent access to family or friends. Secondary users can also remotely manage functions such as climate control, vehicle location and energy monitoring.

Leapmotor says the upgrade continues its commitment to “intelligent, user-centric innovation”.
