Features culled as 2025 Polestar 3 SUV single motor and dual motor pricing announced
The electric luxury brand Polestar has revealed pricing of a cheaper rear-wheel drive 2025 3 SUV at the same time as it has announced a reduction in value of the recently-launched dual motor versions.
The Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor arrives in early 2025 priced at $118,420.
Meanwhile the MY25 versions of the Polestar 3 Long Range Dual Motor drops $180 to $132,720 while the Long Range Dual Motor with Performance pack rises $2520 from $141,900 to $144,420. All prices are plus on-road costs.

More impactfully, the Plus pack that is standard with the two MY24 Launch Edition dual motor Polestar 3s just reaching dealerships, now will become a $9000 option.
On top of that $7500 optional Nappa leather trim is only available if the Plus pack is fitted.
Key features of the Plus pack include a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins stereo system, a head-up display, soft close doors, a power-operated steering column, a heated steering, heated rear seats and even heated wiper blades.
Privacy glass also swaps from being standard to a $700 option in 2025, a 21-inch alloy wheel becomes a $2500 option, the Pro pack that adds gold trimmings costs $3200 and $2300 premium paint is also added to the options list.
Polestar Australia chief Scott Maynard defended the deletion of standard features from the Polestar 3 for 2025.
“The way I’d like to frame it is the introductory offer is exceptional and when we revert to normal trading terms that is where the car will sit,” he said.
“It should be an encouragement to get in and buy the car in model year 2024.”
More positively, a Pilot pack with pilot assist lane centring, lane change assist, and a 360-degree camera with 3D view will continue to be standard across the entire Polestar 3 range.
Standard single motor Polestar 3 equipment mostly reflects the dual motors and includes active LED headlights, flush door-handles, a panoramic glass roof, and 20-inch aero wheels.
Inside it gets the same 14.5-inch multimedia touchscreen as the dual motors, full smartphone integration, triple-zone climate control and electrically adjustable and heated front seats.
The rear-wheel drive single motor produces 220kW and 490Nm, has a 7.8 seconds 0-100km/h and a claimed 700km range based on preliminary WLTP testing courtesy of its 111kWh battery pack.
The standard dual motor outputs 180kW/420Nm (360kW/840Nm total) from its rear unit and a 5.0 second 0-100km/h claim. The Performance pack has a 200kW/490Nm (380kW/910Nm total) rear motor and a 4.7-second dash.
The dual motor Polestar 3s share the same CATL-sourced 111kWh battery and have claimed WLTP ranges of 631km and 561km respectively. All three Polestar 3s have a maximum 250kW DC fast charging rate.
The single motor Polestar 3 forsakes the active air suspension fitted to both dual motor models for passive dampers and coil springs and has no access to any form of Performance pack.
However, it does retain the same dual clutch torque vectoring and Brembo braking system. Top speed drops from 210km/h to 180km/h and towing from 2200kg braked to 1500kg.
