Fast love: Wild 600kW Hyundai N Vision 74 supercar locked in for 2026 debut
Hyundai will go ahead with its plans to build a production version of the wild zero-emission
Hyundai N Vision 74 concept it first unveiled back in 2022, says a new report.
According to Korea’s ET News, when it goes on sale in 2026 the Hyundai N Vision 74 will
keep its glorious retro-inspired looks that draws plenty from the original Giorgetto Giugiaro
designed 1974 Pony Coupe Concept.
Beneath its skin, the Vision 74 – that’s tipped to be renamed the N74 – will evolve the show
car’s hydrogen fuel-cell powertrain for production use.
While the concept made do with just 500kW and 900Nm of torque, the N74 super car will
pump out more than 600kW and get appreciably more torque.
It’s thought that the Korean brand’s fastest-ever EV will feature a development of the
concepts dual-motor rear axle and its 62.4kWh battery.
Unlike a regular EV the battery only feeds current at low-speed and in urban environments.
At high speed and during track use the fuel-cell kicks in and uses hydrogen fed from twin
fuel tanks to produce electricity.
The combined range of both the fuel cell and battery electric powertrain is said to be more
than 600km.
With a lighter kerbweight in part due to a smaller body and liberal use of featherweight
composite materials the N74 should feature a 0-100km/h sprint of less than 3 seconds and a
top speed of more than 300km/h.
Developed by the Korean brand’s N Performance division, it’s thought the N74 will have
handling honed for track use.
Sadly, for those hoping to be able to snap up a Hyundai N74 supercar from their local dealer
prepare to be disappointed.
The report suggests that Hyundai will make just 100 N74s and only 70 of them will be
offered to the public. The final 30 will be retained by the Korean car-maker for racing in
America and Europe.
There’s no word just how expensive the small batch of Hyundai N74s will be but we fear it
could carry a price tag to match some of very finest Italian supercars.
