That means it’s plausible the Model Y Performance will be in Aussie dealers around Q4 of this year.
Fresh details of the Model Y line-up revealed that the XPeng G6 rival will come with a retuned suspension, an upgraded sound system, a front-facing camera, new acoustic glass, a UV resistant roof and new drain plug in the frunk to allow owners to fill it with ice to use it as a cooler.
Full details of the Model Y Performance were not revealed but it’s thought when it rocks up it will have around 450kW and 750Nm of torque.
The current car’s 0-100km/h sprint of 3.7 seconds is set to fall by around 0.3sec to just 3.4 seconds.

There’s no word how much Tesla will charge for its new flagship variant but the new generation electric SUV will launch in May priced from $63,400 (Rear-Wheel Drive) and $73,400 for a Long Range Launch Series (each exclusive of on-road costs).
Those numbers represent a significant $7500 bump on the outgoing car which could see the fastest Model Performance priced from $90,000 plus on-roads.
