2025 Hyundai Inster EV: Fresh Australian details revealed for two-model range with pricing to start under $40,000
New details have surfaced relating to the inbound pint-sized 2025 Hyundai Inster ahead of its debut in Australian showrooms this February.
According to Hyundai Australia it will offer the new Hyundai Inster with two different batteries – the Inster Standard Range and the Inster Extended Range.
The Inster Standard Range comes with a 42kWh battery and a single e-motor that produces 71kW and 147Nm.

The base model comes with a heat pump and a battery pre-conditioner system, a one-pedal driving mode and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability.
The Inster Extended Range bags a larger 49kWh battery that is said to provide a longer 360km range WLTP driving range (although there’s no quote for the Standard Range to compare it with).
The other advantage is you get a more powerful 85kW electric motor and larger 17-inch alloy wheels in place of the Standard Range’s puny 15s.
Both models are front-wheel drive only, as is the 4×4-simulating Inster Cross that Hyundai has also revealed is being released in 2025..
Whichever version you choose, the standard levels of equipment is high with the Inster getting a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus built-in sat nav.
All Insters get a wireless charger, keyless entry and go, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, tinted glass, and roof rails.
Choose Sienna Orange or Dusk Blue Matte paint with the Extended Range and there’s the option of a Khaki Brown and Newtro Beige cloth.
Leaked pricing has already revealed that the Inster Extended Range will cost $42,794 drive-away in NSW suggesting the flagship small SUV will cost around $40,000 plus on-roads.
That suggests the Inster Standard Range should kick-off from around $37,000 before on-road costs.
Final details and specification is expected to be revealed early next year ahead of the Inster’s arrival in Australian dealerships in February 2025.
