Audi Q4 EV range up to 534km as e-Tron family expands
Audi has slotted another model into its Q4 e-Tron range in the form of the new 45 model, taking to four the drivetrain options for the compact electric SUV.
The new Q4 45 e-Tron Quattro rounds out the drivetrain options for Audi’s compact electric SUV while a 40 Sportback stretches the range to 534km.
Adding to the Q4 35 e-Tron, Q4 40 e-Tron and Q4 50 e-Tron that are already available overseas, the Q4 45 e-Tron provides a more affordable all-wheel drive Quattro version, giving customers more choice.
The 45 will initially be available in the regular SUV body style rather than the sleeker Q4 Sportback.

Whereas the 35 and 40 get a single electric motor driving the rear wheels, the 45 and already-announced Q4 50 e-Tron add another electric motor up front for Quattro all-wheel drive.
In the Q4 45 e-Tron that means 195kW for 0-100km/h acceleration of 6.9 seconds. That’s slightly down on the Q4 50 e-Tron’s 220kW that endows it with 0-100km/h potential of 6.2 seconds.
The electric range of the new 45 model – which sells €50,900 ($82,000), well up on the €41,900 ($67,500) start price of the Q4 35 e-Tron – is 490km on the WLTP cycle from a 77kWh battery.
But if it’s range you’re chasing Audi has added its longest-range model yet to the Q4 family.
The new Q4 40 e-Tron Sportback – which uses the sleeker and more aerodynamically efficient Sportback body – is claimed to cover up to 534km on the WLTP test cycle from a 77kWh battery; that’s 13km more than the same drivetrain in the SUV body.
Like the Q4 40 e-Tron SUV, the €49,500 ($79,500) Sportback gets a single electric motor driving the rear wheels. That motor makes 150kW/310Nm for 0-100km/h acceleration of 8.5 seconds.
No word yet on when – or if – the Q4 e-Tron will come to Australia, adding to the regular e-Tron that’s already on sale and the soon-to-arrive e-Tron GT. It’s currentlly not listed on the e-Tron section of Audi’s Australian website.
Audi Australia says the Q4 still hasn’t been confirmed locally, although it’s difficult to imagine it won’t arrive sometime in the near future.
An Audi Australia spokesperson told EV Central: “It’s not confirmed for Australia so we can’t give a timeline, but we continue to work with Audi AG about the possibility to bring it here.”
