2026 Subaru Uncharted EV teased: Toyota C-HR+ twin has been built to fight the Hyundai Kona Electric and Kia EV3

Subaru has teased its third electric car after posting a teaser for the 2026 Subaru Uncharted and announced the new production SUV’s debut will take place on July 17.

Created to sit below the mid-size Solterra and larger Trailseeker SUV, the new entry point to Subaru’s EV range will give the firm a compact SUV to rival EVs like the Hyundai Kona Electric, Kia EV3, BYD Atto 3 and small hatches like the MG4.

Even though the new teaser doesn’t show much, peeping through the dust we can see that the Subaru Uncharted is heavily- related to the 2025 Toyota C-HR+ EV that was unwrapped back in March.

So much so, the two appear to share an identical roof and rear tailgate.

The Subaru EV should also replicate the dimensions of the Toyota that measures 4520mm long, 1870mm wide and stand 1595mm tall, with a 2750mm wheelbase.

While versions capable of covering up to 600km will come with a 73.1kWh battery, a smaller 57.7kWh power will also be available that should see the Subaru travel up to 445km on a single charge.

Three powertrains will be offered. An entry 123kW version is combined with the smallest battery, while a more powerful 165kW motor is offered with the larger 73.1kWh battery.

At the top of the tree, the fastest version will come with dual motor all-wheel drive pumping out 252kW. That should see it launch from 0-100km/h in just 5.1 seconds, while still being able to drive 525km on a charge.

Charging speeds for the new Subaru Uncharted EV is up to 150kW using a fast DC charger and either 11kW or 22kW onboard AC charger.

Full details will be released later this week, including when the new Subaru Uncharted is expected to arrive in Australia.

The 2025 Toyota C-HR+, meanwhile, should touch down in second half of this year, suggesting a late 2025/early 2026 debut for the Subaru.
