2026 Porsche Cayenne S Electric Aussie pricing and specification: Third super-SUV on the way!

The Porsche Cayenne Electric lineup has expanded with the addition of a new mid-tier variant, the Porsche Cayenne S Electric, which slots between the base Cayenne Electric and flagship Turbo model.

Revealed by Porsche overnight, the Cayenne S Electric is priced from $193,100 before on-road costs in Australia and is expected to arrive locally in the third quarter of 2026.

The new variant fills the gap between the entry-level Cayenne Electric, priced from $167,800, and the flagship Cayenne Turbo Electric, which starts from $259,900 before on-road costs. They will also arrive in quarter three.

The Cayenne S Electric is powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 400kW, or up to 490kW with launch control engaged. Porsche claims the performance electric SUV can accelerate from 0–100km/h in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 250km/h.

The Cayenne S Electric adds 165kW over the entry-level Cayenne Electric and shares its basic drivetrain layout with the rest of the range, featuring permanent-magnet synchronous motors mounted on both axles.

Like the other Cayenne Electric models already announced for Australia, the S variant uses a 113kWh high-voltage battery.

Porsche says it can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in around 16 minutes under optimal conditions using a suitable DC fast charger delivering up to 400kW.

European WLTP range is rated at up to 653km, although Australian figures are yet to be confirmed.

The rear electric motor uses direct oil cooling to help maintain performance during sustained high loads, while the rear-axle pulse inverter employs silicon-carbide semiconductor technology capable of processing currents up to 620 amps.

Visually, the Cayenne S Electric receives model-specific front and rear aprons finished in Volcano Grey Metallic, along with body-colour diffuser elements and 20-inch Cayenne S Aero wheels.

Several chassis technologies previously limited to the Cayenne Electric Turbo are now optional on the S model. These include Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Porsche Active Ride suspension designed to minimise body movements, and the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake system with yellow brake calipers.

A Push-to-Pass function can temporarily add up to 90kW of extra power for 10 seconds, while a track endurance mode pre-conditions the battery to maintain performance during circuit driving.

Porsche says the Cayenne S Electric can be specified with 13 exterior colours and a wide range of interior packages.

Australian-market cars will also include additional standard features such as privacy glass, surround-view parking assist with self-steering park assist, 14-way electric comfort seats with memory, a Bose surround-sound system, a panoramic roof and four-zone climate control.

The company also announced a new optional interior styling package developed by its Exclusive Manufaktur division. The package introduces a two-tone black and green leather interior with matching stitching, colour-matched aluminium trim elements and green accents across the steering wheel, instrument displays and key.

Further Australian specifications and final efficiency figures are expected closer to the model’s local launch later in 2026.
