2026 Polestar 4 EV updated in Australia for 2026
Pricing and full specification for the 2026 Polestar 4 have been released ahead of the mid-size SUV’s debut in Australian showrooms later this year.
The Polestar 4 Long Range Single Motor has been priced from $78,500 and the Polestar 4 Long Range Dual Motor from $88,350 plus on-road costs, which is identical to the current MY25 model.
That makes it more affordable than the Audi Q6 e-tron (from $99,900) and the Porsche Macan Electric (from $129,800).

The changes compared to the MY25 car are modest, but the new version does now come with a steering wheel that features physical buttons in place of the old car’s over-sensitive touch controls.

Other changes include an illuminated Polestar logo and new high-level interior lighting. Boot net pockets have been dropped as standard equipment to be part of the optional $8000 Plus Pack.
The same pack includes pixel LED headlamps, adaptive high beam, hands-free tailgate, auto-dimming exterior mirrors, a 1200W Harman Kardon premium sound system, 12-way electric seats, a control screen in the rear, power recline and heated rear seats, three-zone climate control, a heated steering wheel and faster 22kW AC charging.
The $2500 Pro Pack adds 21-inch Pro black diamond cut alloy wheels, Swedish Gold-striped black seat belts and gold valve caps.
The $7200 Performance Pack is only available on the Polestar 4 Dual Motor but must be combined with the Plus Pack and adds 22-inch alloy wheels, active dampers, a retuned sports suspension, Swedish Gold headlamps, and more powerful four-piston Brembo brake calipers.

Elsewhere on the options list, the cost of Nappa leather has fallen from $7000 to $6100 for the Zinc hue and $5700 for Charcoal coloured hides.
Again, leather must be combined with the Plus Pack but also adds ventilation and a massage function for the front seats, softer comfort headrests, a different brushed textile headlining and embedded Harman Kardon speakers in the front headrests.
The electrochromatic roof, meanwhile, is now $2200 – $500 cheaper than before.
Other options include an electric retractable towbar ($3310), rear privacy glass ($700), and colour-coded lower cladding.

Standard kit includes a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 15.4-inch infotainment, keyless entry and start, eight-speaker sound system, a 15W wireless charger, electric tailgate, dual-zone climate control with a heat pump, lane-keep assist, blind-spot warning, front and rear cross traffic alert with braking and traffic sign recognition.
Beneath the skin, the Polestar 4 carries over its existing powertrain unchanged, with the Long Range Single Motor version driven by a 200kW/343Nm rear motor and is combined with a large 94kWh battery that provides for a 620km WLTP-verified range.
Off the line, the entry Polestar 4 sprints from 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds.
The Dual Motor Long Range ramps up power and torque to 400kW and 686Nm. As a result, the 0-100km/h dash drops to 3.8 seconds while the range falls to 590km.

So far this year (Jan-Sept) Polestar 4 has sold 1033 units in Australia, making it the car-maker’s best-selling model, ahead of the Polestar 2 (661) and the Polestar 3 (173).
Globally, Polestar continues to struggle to make an impact in the sales charts, with rumours rife that it is about to pull the plug on its operation in China after just 69 cars were reportedly sold in the first half of 2025.
It has also recently confirmed the closure of its UK technical centre where the new Polestar 5 luxury saloon was developed.
Globally, Polestar has racked up 44,482 sales in the first nine months of 2025, up from the 32,595 it sold over the same three quarters of last year.
