2026 Polestar 2 updated and new pricing detailed: For once, the best news is reserved for the cheapest model
The most affordable 2026 Polestar 2 has been upgraded as part of 2026 (MY26) model updates with more range and faster charging but no increase to its $62,400 (before on-roads) price.
Available to order now ahead of first deliveries this November, the new Polestar 2 Standard Range Single Motor swaps out its 69kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) battery for a new 70kWh NMC unit.
This boosts the WLTP range from 546km to 554km.

The modest bump in range is accompanied by a faster charging rate, with the Polestar 2 now capable of being topped up at 180kW, an improvement over the old car’s 135kW rate.
Elsewhere in the line-up, the Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor Performance ($85,080 – up $4700) is the only model to get more expensive, but that’s because the previously optional Plus Pack is now mandatory.

This pack includes a fixed panoramic glass roof with projected Polestar symbol, fully powered front seats including four-way power lumbar, driver seat memory, front cushion leg extension, backrest storage nets and a Harman/Kardon 600W sound system
All models get a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that is claimed to deliver a smoother and more responsive infotainment experience.
Outside, the Polestar 2 is offered in a new sandy metallic Dune paint that replaces the old Jupiter finish, while tinting for the rear side windows ($500) is available.

The $8980 Performance Pack adds a new 20-inch forged alloy wheel.
Other changes include a new MicroTech quilted upholstery, while Black Ash wood inlays are offered with the Plus Pack.
The Plus Pack goes up in price $800 ($4700) and reintroduces the 13-speaker 600W Harman Kardon sound system that was dropped by the MY25 version.

A fresh addition to the options list is a powerful 14-speaker 1350W Bowers & Wilkins sound system that costs $3500.
But it can only be specified if you’ve already ticked the box for the Plus Pack that also adds a panoramic roof and memory electric seats.
The previous $1900 Pro Pack carries over unchanged, adding the same larger 20-inch alloy wheels, black seatbelts with gold striping and gold tyre valve caps.
Last September the Polestar 2 was subjected to a price cut of around $5000 across the range, but just 537 of the high-riding sedans found homes from January until the end of July this year.
It was easily outsold by the Tesla Model 3 (4077) and BYD Seal (1882), as well as the BMW i4 (626).
